I am tempted to identify this yataghan as Greek as well, but the pommel is of a shape often attributed to North Africa. Elgood does mention that the manufacturing centers in Epirus and Albania were producing items for export to Tunisia, and this nice yataghan may be an example of that trade.

I think I see faint damascus pattern, a la Turkish Ribbon.
Etch it.
