Default Chinese trousse

Hi all,
I recently got this trousse (is it called like that?). Am I correct guessing that it is Chinese, dating to the 19th oder early 20th century?

Thank you for any help.
Peter

Yes, that is what it is. This particular one is of a style that was made well into the 20th cent., and perhaps even now. When I traveled in China (including Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia) in the early 1980s, virtually identical ones were sold in marketplaces and bazaars along with saddlery, traditional boots, and other forms of cutlery, all of which were still in use. This example may be earlier than that, it certainly has quite a bit of character to it with its signs of wear and use.

Yes, i'd would say that it is more likely that this set dates to the latter part of the 20th century.
