Default Japanese NCO Sword

Hello all. This is definately not in my line of collecting. An aquaintence of mine wants to sell this sword. He has no interest in weapons. But the price may be too irresistable. Here is what I have been able to learn:
This appears to be a Japanese NCO officers sword. Apparently called a Type-95, Shin-Gunto made between 1935-1945. It has an aluminum handle and steel scabbard. It has matching manufacturer numbers on both the blade and scabbard. The blade has only some minor staining and is still sharp, with no nicks in the blade. The locking mechanism works fine. No looseness or rattles. Everything very tight. The paint has wore off the handle and most of the scabbard. But it still looks very presentable.
So my two questions are:
1. Is my description and I.D. accurate ?
2. What would be a reasonable collector value for this sword ? (If this question is not permissible on the Forum, maybe someone could PM me.)
Thanks for any help. Picture heavy...Rick.
