Ben, looking at the sword in the position you suggest me, I notice that the blade is not straight, but it's a bit bend toward the right. This bend starts circa at the middle, 3/4 of the length of the blade. See the picture

Thank you Michael Really I don't understand very well if all the pommel is a face but there are many small faces on it

Yes most mandau's (parang Ilangs) have this not many people notice it .
