Default Question about Moro kris scabbards

Hello,
I've recently acquired a Moro kris - pics forthcoming - and I noticed that the scabbard features a number of notches along one side, 13 in total. They are evenly spaced and they do not seem accidental. Does anyone else have such notches on their kris scabbards? is there a known significance to this?

Thanks,
Emanuel

Hmmm... The number of killed enemies

That could be my western point of view, but local customs might well be hanging you enemies heads on the back porch, rather than making notches in wood

Looking forward to pictures.

Finally got around to taking pics, but no time to edit...ebay pics will have to do:

Thoughts? The kill count of course comes to mind but I'd like to know if there's anything more concrete.
