Default Old Kris from an Australian auction

This is one of two items that I won online from an Australian Arms Auction this past weekend that featured mostly firearms but also a few edged weapons. I'm pretty sure this kris has a laminated blade, but that will have to wait for its arrival, and I can clean and etch it. I think I have this one figured out, and spoke to a couple of knowledgeable people who agreed with my interpretation. Blade length = 19 inches. No other measurements provided.

Perhaps folks would like to test their skills at identifying this Moro kris and dating it. There is information scattered through this forum's pages that will help.

This is the only picture from the auction.

Congrats, a nice older piece, Ian!

Sulu. I'd assume it to be roughly mid-19th c.; definitely laminated.

Please post close-ups once you receive it.

Regards,
Kai

WOW!!! Is that wire work on the handle? I would like to see a close-up when you get it and to know if it is copper, brass silver, etc.; it looks to be wonderfully done.
