Sword ID and other info

I am new to collecting and my progress will be slow. I was given a sword by my grandpa a long time ago. I believe he bought it at a garage sale because he knew I like swords. I was just wanting to find out any information that I could get and even what it may be worth. I have no intention on selling it but I just would like to know. It also has some type of engraving on it and I would love to know what that says. It is not in the best condition and if need be I can get some better pics up here but this is what I have at this point.

Hello Ryanevest and welcome to the forum. First things first, please read the "Forum Registration And Rules" sticky as well as the "Posting Photos" sticky both of which are located towards the top of the main page in each forum section. You will not only find that asking for an appraisal of any item is strictly against forum rules, but other information that will be very helpful to you in the future as well.
