Hi Lew, on Tribal Arms Monograph n.3 there are the knives attached that are similar to yours especially the number 21 and are attributed to the Topoke and are called trumbush, mambele, nambele, dupa. On Ijzerwerk van Centraal-Afrika, Westerdijk attributed some similar knives to the mangbetu (i will post a pic later). To be honest i don't kow how near are the mangbetu and the topoke.

Hi Lew the two tribes are not so neighbouring... I think your knife is more mangbetu or of a linked tribe.

Gosh that is rather nice, Well done. I got a good thing today, a large bronze anklet . I think from the Cameroon, not being a weapon I have not added a picture.

This lovely ornate one I got from Freddy is very similar. Gosh it just happens to be lying next to a Cameroon noble women's anklet. You can see the traditionally auspicious earth spider motif in the cut out panels. I must tidy my play pen.

Lew thanks for the interest. Obviously things like this will appeal to me. This one is particulary fine with no file marks, not that file marks mean something is not old. I will keep it short as it is not a weapon and the pictures say enough.
