Default A beautiful Salawaku for enjoy

After Charles and Albert have shown their beautiful shields I want to show you also a very nice shield from Halmahera, the best one in my collection, a very big and old one. It is 98 cm long and have alternating front ranks of Mother of Pearl and porcelain. Please enjoy.

Great Salawaku Detlef!

Thank you for sharing.
There's a very old one in the Bronbeek museum exposition at the moment. It is displayed with a Celebes Kanta and a very old (and interesting) West Borneo shield.

If somebody has a Borneo shield like this, please show us images!!!!

Oh, I also have images of these three oldies.
I photographed them (uhm... at least I tried to get as best as possible with my louzy photographing), in the Nusantara museum in Delft.
Now one of the many museums that had to close their doors allready for the public in the Netherlands.

Thank you so much Albert for posting this image.
It's so beautiful! Is it also very small?
