Default What is this?

I was at Pudsey, Leeds Arms Fair yesterday, and I came back with this.... When it was first offered to me I thought it was a very very damaged and cut down Philippine Kris that had lost it's Gangya or Gonjo, but there is no sign of it ever having one. It was very cheap, so I bought it, and here it is. What did I get?

Doesn't quite look Moro to me inspire of the square tang, but I will definitely say that a ganga was once on the end of it. Might have even had a clamp on it on one side. Perhaps Malaysian?

I am inclined to go with it being a heavily reshaped Philippine piece, not just from the squared tang but also the smooth finish. I am thinking a very damaged piece made useful again.
I will have a go at a window polish some time in the future.

That's a possibility David. A window might be helpful as to origin.
