Default Jimpul with unusual(?) hilt decoration

I was outbid and some lucky guy just won the bid on ebay for this jimpul (congratulation to the new owner!). The hilt has (to me) an usual hilt decoration. Can any of you mandau lovers here let us know if this kind of decoration is typical to any particular region or just a whimsical creation of the hilt carver?

The decoration on the blade are not as unusual and similar pattern can be found on many mandaus . I hope you can also inform where /which tribe this type of ornamentation is typical .

Pics below were from ebay.
