Default Another African shield

Hi

For those who like African shields, here is an example I got not so long ago. They are often described as "Masai" shields although they were also used by other tribes in the area of East Africa...

Regards

This is very well preserved shield. Did this shields with white/light coloured sectors belong to the groups of young warriors ?

Hi Martin

I havn't heard of such a concept regarding these East African shields...however I have read that regarding Zulu shields from South East Africa, shields which were predominately of white cowhide, were used by more senior warriors/regiments.
