Default Naga-hilted kris

This one finished recently online.

I hope that the winning bidder is a member here and will post better pics. The seller's pictures are a little fuzzy. This is a nice example of a very rare hilt form, and it sold for more than I expected given that the hilt is cracked and the blade has a significant forging flaw. Without better pics it is hard to say if there is a twist core running down the center of the blade.

Some of you were probably watching it too. I would think it is probably 19th C.

Ian.

Hi Ian,

indeed a lot of money, but the both faults wouldn't bother me very much. I also would like to know if the blade show twist core.

Regards,
Detlef

I didn't see a twist core but evidence of silver inlay (which needs to be restored )
