To which ethnic group belonged this shield?
Wood, about 100 cm.

IT IS A RECENT DAYAK DECORATOR SHIELD FROM BORNEO. SUCH SHIELDS MAKE GOOD WALL HANGER DECOR BUT SERVE NO TRIBAL PURPOSE IN CEREMONIES OR ETHNIC DRESS SO ARE NOT USED AS SUCH. THEY STILL MAKE MORE TRADITIONAL SHIELDS FOR USE IN DANCE AND COSTUME BUT YOUR EXAMPLE IS PURELY FOR DECORATION.
