Default South African snake stick

Hi

Here are images of a recent find, for the interest of African club enthusiasts in the forum. The snake was important in Zulu religious beliefs, but I'm not sure whether these sticks were made for indigenous use or for resale purposes.

Comments welcome.

Super quality on the carving and the patina is spot on for an early 20th or late 19th century piece.
