Default Three small Bugis keris

Hello All,

just want to share my collection of three small Bugis keris with you. The blades are 27/23/23 cm without peksi. You can call them patrem?
What is interesting in my opinion is the handle from ivory set together from two pieces and hold together with nails from horn.
Your comments are welcome.

Thumbs up

Those are lovely Sajen !
Are you sure the pins are horn and not akar bahar ?

Ever since I got this smallish Gading hilt I've been keeping my eyes peeled for one the size of yours .

Nice assembly of examples .

Hello Rick,

of course not really sure about the material, but I think that akar bahar is not flexible enough and will break maybe. Other possibility is that it is some sort of hard wood.
BTW, also nice hilt you have there.

Interesting handle, made of 2 pieces.
Haven't seen something like that before.

The keris in the middle, what material is that hilt ?

Best regards,

Hi Willem,

sea ivory, but not sure which one. The right one is from wood.

All the best,

Detlef
