UNFORTUNATELY I KNOW VERY LITTLE IN THIS FIELD BUT AS NO ONE HAS COMMENTED SO FAR. I CAN SAY IT IS FROM AFRICA AND WOULD LIKELY BE CEREMONIAL OR FOR FIGHTING AS IT WOULD NOT SEEM TO BE A GOOD TOOL FOR ANY KIND OF WORK. THE ONLY TOOL I CAN THINK OF THAT I HAVE USED IS A CLAM PICK, USED FOR FINDING CLAMS AT LOW TIDE BUT THIS WOULD MAKE A POOR CLAM PICK AS THE SPIKES ARE NOT PROPERLY ORIENTATED . PERHAPS SOMEONE WITH MORE KNOWLEGE ON AFRICAN ITEMS WILL GIVE YOU MORE INFORMATION. GOOD LUCK

It is certainly African. I see it as most likey being from the northern parts of southern Africa. Areas sharing borders of present day Angola/Zambia/Mozambique and Zimbabwe. Other members might be more helpful.
