Jens, that's simply not fair, to show such an intruiging PART of a piece and leave us tortured as to what the rest appears like.
While I realize the overall piece has nothing to do with your specific question, could I ask........ please?

Hi Mike,

Yes you are right - sorry. There are four inscriptions on this Haladie, but unfortunately the three of them are not very clear, only the one with the year 1221 (1807).

Hi Jens,

This is something often found of Islamic weapons, a verse from the Quran

Nasrun Min Allah, Wa fathun Qarib - Victory is from God and conquest is near.

I've also seen it on war banners, probably Ottoman.

Hi Jens,

I believe this one is an native Indian script, perhaps Devanagari or Gurmukhi definitely not Arabic derived script? You need a local to help read that for you
