Default interesting woven head gear

OK once again its not a weapon but I think it is of interest nevertheless as an accessory . Would appreciate any views as to origin or age . It seems to be woven grass and appears to be old . I have owned this for about 30 years . I bought it in a general auction where it was descibed as Amazonian ! Never was able to track its ID down .

Hi, nice hat. You know I have seen it SOMEWHERE before and am cracking my head on where that would be . . . . . .Is it not Naga perhaps? A different type of hat used by them. (Naga-tribe; India/Laos mainland)
Hopefully I will remember. Or someone else knows!

Hi, this type of hat is from Assam (North-East India), close to Nagaland. Looks a nice piece, could be late 19th/early 20th century.

Thanks Colin ... much obliged , and you are on the same lines as Indianajones, now at last it can have a label other than a '?' . Brilliant .
