Thumbs up Aspiration vs. reality

Now that the initial flash of starting has passed, I have given some thought to how perhaps you all are reacting to this flood of information.

A very ambitious schedule has been set for reasons already explained, but I at least had not really articulated the obvious, which is that we are all working together towards the ultimate goal of a successful exhibition. No one should view things like the schedule as being a "take it or lump it" situation. What is needed is energetic participation, and the pooling of both material and intellectual resources.

Obviously, the world will not end if all photographs are not to me and Antonio by the specified deadline, but everyone should make their greatest effort. Not every description needs to be perfect by the stated date, but let's try and get most of them in final form, and all of them in some form. I suggested providing pictures and information on a rolling basis specifically so that no one feels that they have to make this herculean effort to put together and deliver a big chunk of stuff. Doing it a bite at a time makes it a lot easier. And any input, contribution or help is both productive and useful, no matter how small it might seem to the individual.

Anyway, I guess I am taking this lull in the talking to offer some encouragement in the hopes that people are busy taking out the old friends in their collections and deciding which to submit, and not heading for the hills!

I'd also like to volunteer to receive photos that may need to be resized and any measurements which need to be converted if this will help the process along .

Feel free ...

OK. I'm finally getting into this. STill busy working on finding another employment placement, so little time.

My question is how much info to put in for each piece I offer? - I have 1/2 a page - 2 pages per piece with footnotes on some. I do this as an inventory practice and can cut down a little when I get rid of the $ values of my pieces.

Default Size of descriptions

Yes indeed Spunjer
We can't have more than these descriptions.
You must remember that every word will be replicated in three languages.
Then there will be 5 sections, so as is, we are looking at an estimated 400 pages catalog.

Thanks for your understanding. It is also a nuisance to be the devils advocate with your generosity. But I'm sure you will understand

Default SELECTION DATE

Gentlemen,

Mark Bowditch came to Macau and I believe you all have read his most benevolent review of his visit. The fact is that on this part of the preparation, I have not been able to upload all swords and descriptions as yet.

Why? you may ask. Well, first because I did not imagine your great generosity and civic attitude.

Then it is a matter of a day having 24 hours and I barely sleep 4 hours a night.

Please rest assured that no one is more committed to bring the entire fleet to its destination. Yup, I spoke of a fleet. I am presently, on the Macau side, coordinating every single part of the different sections alone and with very hard negotiations going on.

Because things may change for the better, I am asking you to be aware that although exhausted, I am fully aware of the timings and so forth.
I will talk to Mark today, the 12th of December and Mark will hopefully post something for everyone to read.
I would just like to ask you to wait for Mark to place the result of my talk with him today.

Thanks you for your understanding and rest assured that it is now inside logistics and time.
Antonio
