I had reason to look into Robert Mole and Sons many years ago, and I seem to recall a history of the company that may prove helpful. I no longer have a copy of that document, unfortunately.

I will certainly be doing more digging around for information, apart from anything else Mole are well known British sword makers of the era, and it intrigues me that they made machetes as well.... I have more than a few service swords, but to date this is my only (as far as I know) Mole! Regarding the use of Spanish text, I see that as a clue to the intended market rather than manufacture. My Collins Legitimus no22 is stamped up in Spanish, but is made in Hartford (Connecticut).
