Default Ottoman Empire Kindjal

Hello,

This dagger has a 10 inch blade and is 14 inches overall. Scabbard has heavy silver fittings, each marked with a tughra. Closest match seems to be Mahmud II (1808-1839)

Grip is one piece of ivory with silver fittings. Cracked but still pretty solid.

Blade is somewhat rough but still shows nice patterning. Looks a lot nicer in hand than my poor blade pictures indicate.

Can anyone confirm the tughra?
I was told Ottoman silver intended for export was required to have the current Sultan's tughra stamped on it as a guarantee of the quality of the silver. Is this basically correct?

Thanks for the help.
Matt
