Default Sudan Dagger For Comment

Here I go again

Just won this gem on ebay no scabbard but it has an interesting and different blade shape than the ones I have seen.

Nice Lew.

Definitely a unique blade style for that hilt form, and based on what I think I see of the patina, looks to be an older one.

Congrats Lew!

I had contemplated bidding on this one as I like this handle type, but then thought I'd keep money for another toy.
I'm intrigued by this handle form connected to the blade type. The usual Hadendoa/Beja daggers with the partly-straight and partly recurved blade has slightly different handles, with the arms of the X extending horizontally more than vertically (At least from what I see in the Oriental-Arms archive). I am therefore really curious about how these handle were paired with the Kartoum/Kordofan-type blades. In any case, these are gorgeous daggers.

Regards,
Emanuel
