Default SE Asian (???) knife on e-bay

Just ended.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

The blade and the incisions on the spine look SE Asian to me.
Any comments?

Default Odd knife ...

Hi Ariel:

Definitely not a dha.

The bolster, full length tang and pinned handle scales are not common SE Asian features. The "X" and other marks on the spine are found fairly widely.

Doesn't strike me as being SE Asian. I'm interested to hear what others think.

Ian.

Hello,
There was another identical knife listed as Tibetan or such, brand new and with the same incisions and six rivets - can't seem to find the listing now...

It also looks a lot like this Chinese eating knife http://www.oriental-arms.com/item.php?id=1160 from Oriental-Arms.

So do I. Uncommon, at least, for my region.

I agree that it is most probably a trousse knife from China/Tibet/Mongolia. Just missing the chopsticks, scabbard, etc.
