Default Shotgun

Hi!

I have this shotgun-seems to be a spike detonator patron (is that correct?) used.

It is any way luxury-but I see it is interesting (at least me...).

L= 123cm...pipe 83cm and dia 18mm end of pipe.Not any markings-
but inside lock system some letters and marks. Can anyone say land or
age of this type shotgun? Or something else...

regards Markku

This type of gun has a so-called "pinfire lock". This mechanism was in use in the second half of the XIX cent. Though employed in the same era as the center fire cartridges, it could be considered a transitional system between percussion lock and center- fire cartridges as in use still today.
As to the place of origin, I would say Belgium.
