Antique wakizashi in gunto mounts
Up for sale is an antique wakizashi in gunto mounts.
The blade is signed Kanefusa and the yasurimi is Higaki indicating that the sword is likely Mino. As the Higaki marks were made correctly only till to the muromachi. Also the mekugi-ana is punched. The nagasa is 52cm long, and is in overall good condition although the blade has scratches and the kissaki is pitted. There seems to be a slight bend in the nakago and blade but when the sword is mounted the effect is minimal. The hamon is strong and is of a slight gunome. The blade has slight pitting and scatches but nothing in the way of chips to the cutting edge. A slight bend close to the hamachi. Proably caused by a car going over the blade. The tsuka is in excellent condition with no fraying and the ito remaining very tight. There is a full set of 4 seppa and with the tsuba are stamped with the number 5. The saya has seen better days with the same having since shrunk and split. This is especially apparent near the bottom of the saya where you can see the wood underneath. I am looking for around £400, will post internationally. Offers are also welcome via PM, I need a quick sale on this sword so am offering a week's inspection period.
