When is a club not a club?
When it is a kitchen utensil. Those of you who have one eye permanently scanning ebay will be familiar with this piece. Sold as a club, it was listed time and time again untill it was cheap enough to have a go at. It is funny how many obviously prized and made to be seen domestic objects get confused with weapons. One can clearly see the wear from pounding on the head of the object. Shown here next to a club. I like non weapon things so I am happy and it is probably more rae than a club. Southern Sudan a similar plain one called a mallet can be found here. Except I cannot get the link to work just now.

A housewife's weapon
Tim, here are two others.
I bought them as clubs...at first I really thought they were clubs. A friend from Amsterdam who visited Ethiopia recently 'enlightened' me. These two pieces are ustensils for stirring milk. But....an angry housewife could do quite some damage with them I'll have to hide them from my wife |
