Another Moro or Malay Twistcore Kriss

I just received this back from Battara after some restoration work and it has really turned out to be a beauty. Forumite Battara built a baca-baca for the kriss to replace the one that was broken. He also relacquered the hilt wrap as it was beginning to show signs of dry rot.

The scabbard is not native to the blade, but is a good fit. The pommel is heavily patinated bone.

The twistcore is a 3-D type that ends rather dramatically about 3 in. before the end of the fullers towards the blade's tip.

Overall length: 26.5in.

Blade length: 20.5in.

Blade width at midpoint: 1.25in.

That's sweet.
Prior to reading the description, I thought the pommel was wood. That patina threw me off.
I see what you mean by having a 3-D type twist. Is the blade smooth or does it have a topographical surface? The blade is on slender side at 1.25". At what age would you place on this sword?
Congrats on another fine sword.

BTW-the clamp looks great.

The edges are smooth, but the twist core is topographical...that's what I meant by 3-D effect.

I think it is certainly early 19th century, perhaps earlier.

Yes, Jose did a tremendous job with the baca-baca.
