what have I got ?
There is not much I can say except I bought it in a poor condition; a lot of dirt on the blade with a little that looked like rust on the marks and too dry leather on the wooden scabbard..
After reviving the leather on the scabbard , cleaning the blade without trying to damage its marks, you can see the result in the enclosed picts. Total length 39 cm Scabbard 26 cm Dagger 37 cm Handle 12,5 cm ( handle is made out of bone) Blade 24 cm Marks 7 cm on each side of the blade As for the origin and age I have no clue at all... Perhaps another primitive and obscure daggers from the Middle East like Mr. Motan advised previously? So forum...kindly requested to advise on origin and age, thank you very much! I see some similarities with shula daggers and koumyas. Maybe some kind of morrocan poor man's koumya ? 🤔

Looks very North African to me. Morocco/Algeria/Tunisia. 20th century.

would they have a wooden scabbard covered by leather ?
I bought it from a Russian gent from Siberia, close to Kazachstan, who sells Russian artifacts and items from the former Sovjet Union, but that might not say anything in this case about this dagger... thnx a lot for your swift reply / je Vous merci !

Do you have a side (edge on) view? I would like to see how it was mounted. And a view of the throat of the scabbard?

I agree with your assertion that it belongs in the greater Indopersian sphere of influence. Why? I can't give a good answer. It just seems vaguely familiar.
