Default The Wallace Collection: New Catalog and USB Drive

The new catalog by Tobias Capwell, illustrating 70 selected highlights from the collection, is availbale separately (GBP 30) or together with an additional USB drive containing images of all objects and texts since 1909 (GBP 175).

Their database provides a comprehensive search option; unfortunately I found color images of varying quality, mostly rather poor, out of focus and of low resolution. In some cases only a close-up detail of an object is illustrated.

A few samples atached.

I do hope these are not the same photos used on the USB drive.

Has anyone seen this USB drive and can report on its quality?

Best,
Michael

Information on the catalog and USB drive, and a special exhibition on making the Renaissace sword, with illustrative sources.

And some more images.

Please read the descriptions carefully; many objects are not completeley authentic but composite.

This may (or also) be considered a purchase encouragement issue, rather than the discussion of the book merits.
Better move it to Swap Forum .
