Interesting Chinese Saber

This is an extremely interesting antique Chinese saber, likely a composite of parts. The handle is a section of bone beautifully carved. Tang through/pinned and peened, pommel capped with copper.

The brass guard is lobed, and flanged, quite reminiscent of Tibetan guards.

The blade is quite old, and has been cleaned fairly agressively. Pitting remains, as does the faint remnants of engraving at the forte. I've tried to capture the engraving, but it is difficult to make out. Perhaps a stylized tree, or script of some sort.

Aarrrr! Andrew, you are selling this awesome piece! Someone is going to be very happy with it (the LAST of the real Chinese pieces!). Sorry I can't afford it anytime soon (cash is very tight after my last purchase).
