Default Two New Indonesian Daggers For Comment

Hi All

I pick these two beauties up at Timonium. Let me know what you think.

Very nice indeed. I can fall for anything with rattan binding.

Nice find!

Obviously I missed a lot not being able to go to the Timonium.
Is the Sewar extremely big or is it the Palembang, or Minangkabau(?), knife that's very small?

Hmm...the shorter on, a Siraui and the longer piece a Sewar...
I guess the Sewar is from Artzi, nice sumatran piece.
Very nice beauties... Good picks, Lew.

I like very much but I have never found Keris at the price I am prepared to pay . I will have to endure flagellation for such remarks .

Thanks Lew,

Then it seems as if the Siraui is quite small and the Sewar is quite big.
Which makes both of them even more interesting, from my perspective.
Somewhere in van Z, as well as other sources, is described another name for a Sewar of larger size.
Maybe some other forumite knows more about it and if yours fall into that category?

Sorry,

Back home now and had a look in van Z.
I mixed it up with a Golok Rembau.
So it's a quite large and very nice Sewar.

Correction the sewar blade is 11.5" long not 13".
