Default Is this a Ladieng ?

Is this a Ladieng ? It looks to have a pattern in the metal that could be brough out by cleaning then etching but the picture is poor. I hope to post better ones soon

John,

I would call it that. But Ladieng is a wider classification for Sumatran blades than the one in van Z according to my understanding.

Congrats, John - seems to be a nice piece! I'm looking forward to seeing it cleaned & stained.

The hilt is a bit more angled than in many Ladieng. I'd be interested to hear how it handles once you receive it.

Seems to be a long example. What's the length of the blade only?

Regards,
Kai
