Default Bugis luk 7

Dear forumites,

Could someone enlightened me about this Pamor:
1. How they make the pamor adeg? Cut the blade in the middle from top and inserting pamor miring?
2. Any other info or reason why the pamor adeg does not going through to gonjo?
3. Any other similar keris produced this way?

Thanks in advance
Rasjid

Dress is bugis style, blade is not. To answer the question 2 better close-up pictures in natural light would be needed. I for example am not sure if adeg in this case is miring going trough to slorok or just welded on.

Hi Gustav,

My understanding, the adeg is not welded on. This is the best picture that I can get from my Samsung.
From the village, the sampir was painted black like this so I cleaned it up and bring back the original wood colour. (the Bugis rongko is another success project as well)

I don't understand their purpose, some other areas in Sumatra is painted red colour.
My best guess, they want to hide the keris or specific culture in their society?
May be others can have other opinion

Thank you

Congratulations for the nicely refurbished wrongko!
It also seems to me that the blade is not from Bugis origin?
Regards

Hi Jean,

Yes its not like Bugis that I know off either but found with the hilt, selut together with the rongko as it is. The peksi also bend a little to accommodate the hilt. So just kerp it as found and I like it as is now.

Hi Marco,
I wouldnt argue about the pamor. Lots gone already. The reason I keep the blade is as my own sample to study in near future about the origin construction of how the pamor created before. For personal reference.

Dear Marco,

Please dont misunderstand me , you could be right about the pamor name. Could also be lar gangsir adeg or other people could call it other names as well because I can not confirmed it myself.
