Many Afrocentric proponents would put your idea "bass ackward": it was the ancient Somalis who taught Alexander the art of swordmaking, war, and universal culture.

You mean because those blades are shaped like an Ancient Greek kopis?

Don't quite a few blades have a similar shape? Nepali kukris and Turkish yataghans also have that forward curve.

I'm pretty sure that the Afar dagger is more closely linked to the jambiya than to the kukri.
