Default Taking antique arms out of Poland by plane

Hi. We will visit Poland soon for business. If I buy something like old swords, daggers or bayonets will I be able to take them out of Poland without any problem ? Is it legal or not ?

regards

Transporting swords and daggers by plane is all right providing that you don't take them as hand luggage or keep them in your belt... within EU.

Generally, if you can buy them in an EU coutry, you shouldn't have problems taking them out of EU providing they do not contain any CITES listed materials.

But let us see what others have to say.

Officialy everything made before 1945 is illegal to be taken abroad, such info hang in polish antiques shops. No matter if it is arm or sth different. But there is no border in fact, just a security control.
I think easiest way would be to ask the dealer. Eventually shopping is not a problem and is cheap in EU.

Question

Not within EU. To Turkey. I have brought many of them from Germany, Italy, Greece etc etc but as far as i check on internet, Poland particularly seems to have restrictions ( or have had restrictions in past for sure even if not for so sure today) on exporting antiques from. 🤔😳

I have carried in, cargo luggage bayonets and helmets without any problem
From Warsaw to Dublin. They are very serious about not taking any munitions on aircraft, for obvious reasons.
Lots of WWII and WWI bayonets in the flea markets (all nations)

Thanks a lot. So it seems no Polish custom problem is likely to happen.
Which town is better to try chance? Warsaw or Krakow? Are antique markets set only on sundays or all week?

I found the Kolo market the best. The one at the stadium was full of rubbish in my mind, v touristy. At kolo I was the only non pole when I was there at 7 am
Lots of Militaria and a fantastic range of bayonets
Not much English spoken so a note pad to write prices on and barter with would be advisable. Bargain like hell though as they think tourists are loaded.
Enjoy your trip
Regards
Ken
Ps I have never been to krakow so can't comment, wife has and she reckons it is more touristy, not sure if this means less or more antiques though.

According to google 'Kolo' market is open on Saturdays and sundays. Is it correct?
