Hi Weapons,
this does seem to be a 'marriage' of parts. The hilt does indeed look like one from a Kora. The knuckle guard seems a total 'mis-match' .... and looks like it would have been better turned the otherway round. The fixing of the knuckle guard to the guard looks very weak.
'Married' swords such as this are always hard to determine ... whether this is a genuine attempt to create a weapon for use (therefore having some history) or a fantasy /made-up piece for monetary gain .
