Default Unusual Visayan sword?

This sword just ended on eBay
Unfortunately I wasn't the winner but I still would appreciate some more information on what it is.
I have a modern variant of a resembling short sword with cut tip (see picture).
I have been told it is used for sneak attack close quarter cutting.
Anyone knows what it is and what it is used for?

Hello Michael,

have bid also and never thought that it went high like this. Why you think that it is from Visayas? The peened through tang let me think that it orginate fom Luzon (Batangas?). And the guard let me think that it was for fighting. Like you I am curious what it is and from where it is.

Best regards,

Detlef

Hi Detlef,

You are correct.
The reason I wrote Visayas was because I had presuppositions based on the enclosed contemporary Visayan sword.
