Default 1895/1897 Pattern Infantry sword

Dear friends.
Help answer questions about the infantry sword model 1895/1897.
1. I have not found in the book Richard H. Bezdek accurate information about the company Morris & Co at the end of the 19th century. Who can help me?
2. What does the letter P inside the inscriptions PROVED?
3. Who knows that the plant is located in a wreath? The wreath can be denoted by the infantry?
4. It is not clear to number 100 406? He's too big for the Victorian time.
Respect, Alexander.
