Default This is intended to hold something...but what?

Hi all,

I recently saw this item in the window of an antique shop here in town. The figure's right hand is positioned to grasp something. I would love it to be a keris holder, but the space in the hand seems too small to hold the sarung. Also, I'm not sure the style fits that culture. I'm also very likely wrong.

So, seemingly intended to hold something with a diameter of about 1 1/2", what would make sense?

Thanks!

Its a Nat (spirit) worshipped in Burmah, would have had a dha in his hand.. or diamond shapes dagger.

Thank you, kronckew. Interesting fellows. I've seen a few more since I first spotted this guy.

My brain is stuffed with interesting (to me anyway) titbits garnered from around the world and from this website. Most are on long term storage in the back of the attic of my mind, but leak out occasionally. Some do need a pry-bar to break them loose (WD40 helps). Sometimes I ignore their advice, to my detriment.
