Weapons in Cham artwork from AMNH

Here is another piece from the American Museum of Natural History in New York. This is labeled as a "Footed dish with riders hunting lions, elephants and deer," identified as being from Vietnam, "Cham style, c. 8th century." It is made of bronze. What is interesting to me is what the hunters are not carrying, namely dha. The rider at the top is carrying what looks like a ring-pommel sword, whether curved or straight is difficult to say, but is looks to have a bit of an upsweep near the tip, more like a Chinese dao than a dha. The detail shows a little bit more, but unfortunately I didn't frame it very well and part of the sword edge is cut off.

I have been curious about what sort of sword the Cham might have used, since they were an early continental Southeast Asian civilization (sandwiched between the Viet and the Khmer). This is the only depiction that I have found so far.
