Default Art of the Samurai at the Met

For those interested, Art of the Samurai.

I was at the Met briefly to meet some family members so just got to do a quick walk through, but it is an amazing collection. I'll have to go back to spend more time there.

I was there this past Saturday with 5 other members of the Boston Token-Kai, Ogawa San gave our club a private tour, unfortunately a lot of our members couldn't make it, busy time of the year. We also went NOV 8, the day they gave the lectures, at least 15 members made it then. Incredible stuff, the best of the best, many national treasures swords, armor etc. These items have never come together before, even in Japan. If any of the forum members can make it, it will be well worth their time.
Best,
Maskell

I wish they would do something like that in the UK, sounds like a great exhibition.

How about that! I had approached the Met a few years ago to see if they would be interested in hosting a repeat of the Art of Steel exhibition and was told it was not their "thing." It probably had more to do with my lack of credentials than the subject matter. Nice exhibit.
