Default F W HOLLER SOLINGEN info required

Hi
I have recently posted on the Ethnographic weapons section, a Manding sword with a German blade by the above maker. I wondered when they were in business. I am more familiar with FW Holler as a maker of Nazi daggers , but this sword looks more like an early 19th C cavalry sabre.

Hello,

according to

"The Sword and KNife Makers of Germany 1850-2000"

by Anthony Carter, F.W: Höller was founded in 1866 and ceased production in 1974. During this period this company was known as cutlery and sword makers. After WW2 besides professional cutlery and scissors it still produced swords.

Greetings, Helge
