Default EARLY EXCAVATED RAPIER CIRCA 1540 – 1560

Early rapier in excavation condition .
Hilt: A.V Norman type 30 ( 1540-1560)
Pommel : A.V Norman type 12( 1515-35) or E.Oaskeshott type G2
Overall 97 cm
It would be nice if a member could post a picture for a similar sword in good condition.

Hi Jean Luc,

Here is a similar rapier ( not the same ) of the same era.
This one is a French war rapier, mid 16th C with a broad blade and big pommel.
The balance is perfect for both stabbing and slashing and the condition is medium.
