Default Real Balkan knife or Fantasy piece ?

I just received this piece today and I could go either way on the knife. It has a heavy, sharp 7" blade with Cyrillic writing .It has a brass bolster reminiscent of my yataghans, and the handle has some crude designs ; what bothers me most is the pistol grip, which I haven't encountered on a knife like this and the fact that all of a sudden, a lot of Balkan flintlocks have been showing up with the same handle.
Comments would be appreciated .

These knives are from the Western Balkans, and so I know nothing about them. Here is a thread you may find helpful though:

P.S. I am reading the inscription as Veso Batovich, a person's name.
