Smile Vietnamese sword?

Hi all.
Just wondering if you have any ideas of the origin of this sword? I found it left in my garage when I bought this house. I've had some suggestions, from being an 'Indonesian headhunters sword' to a sword from Vietnam. I wonder if any of you have come across anything similar?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I believe it is a Vietnamese sword from the Montanyard people. These are usually bring backs from the Vietnam War by US soldiers.

Not my area of expertise but it looks like a tourist grade sword from Indonesia (i. e. Burma) called a Dha.

Stan is right. It is a tourist dha. Popped up in the seventies as wall hangers. Today still offered on auction sites. As a youngster i bought these dha's also to decorate my room from my saved pocket money
Not from Indonesia but made in Thailand

Thailand, IMHO. Tourist grade, of course, and modern.

No it is a sovereign country in its own right, as is Burma, now known as Myanmar.

Nah, no need to go back to school. As long as I can identify a sword by it's proper name (which i did), call a fake when I see one (which i did), and point out roughly what part of the world it comes from (which i did), I have all education I'll ever need

No, seriously, I am quite ashamed of myself
