Default Interesting painted hide SHIELD

Interesting painted hide SHIELD but I am stumped as from where it originates . Diameter 52 cm . Any info appreciated .

The style of painting indicates Indo-Persia as does the style of grip. Not typical of the area though so I would suggest the fringes of that cultural area. Being hide, I would discard the more humid parts of the region as a possibility. That's all I can guess.

Interesting David , I do agree the decoration does point to that area , though the lack of bosses on the shield made me wonder .
