Default Scissors Katar repair project

Hi all
Here is a project I am working on over the Christmas break
It is a v rough condition scissors katar
I picked this and another ordinary (but v nice) katar at a local auction
Described incidentally as " two old spear heads"
The scissors katar was v v rusty with none of the silver work showing
I have cleaned everything I am willing to clean and am now on the re build of the missing cross piece and the camming arms to open the blades
Also I will have to manafacture a replacement Spring. And the missing piece that covers the mechanism when I get time
I will have a go at this next week but I taught I might puts some pictures of the on going work.
I will document the spring making as it might prove useful to someone.

I am v happy with the replacement of the moving handgrip and I have used round as the camming arms which will eventually pull the scissors open but welcome comments and advice if anyone has a complete example they care to show pictures of.
Sorry about terrible pictures I have v bad light and the sun is long down
Thanks and happy new year to all
Regards
Ken

Thumbs up

IT LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE THE PROJECT UNDER CONTROL. YOU NOW KNOW MUCH MORE ABOUT THESE THAN MOST OF US. EVEN IF WE HAVE SEEN MANY OVER THE YEARS I AM SURE FEW HAVE TAKEN THEM APART OR REPLACED PARTS AND RESTORED FUNCTION ON ONE. I CAN'T ADD MUCH BUT AN ENCOURAGING POST AND A PICTURE OF ANOTHER EXAMPLE. GOOD LUCK
