Default Another Mongolian (?) knife

Just won the auction for this. It certainly looks Mongolian but there's something... off about the hilt shape. Maybe it's just the pictures. I'll take better pictures when it arrives. The seller is in Ireland and thought it was middle eastern. OAL is 25cm

Is it that the hilt looks really flat and thin that bothers you? I have seen similar thin hilts before on these knives.

Yeah, the flatness bothers me. Doesn't look like it was designed to be used. On the other hand that blade edge has clearly been grinded off from a lifetime of use. So clearly it was a user.
