Default Balkan Rifle Mechanism Translation

I sometimes envy my friends in Bulgaria, because every once in a while they get to find cool stuff in old houses, such as this Balkan long rifle of somewhat small proprotions. After cleaning, an inscription was revealed on the outside of the frizzen. The year seems to be 124?, but if someone can help translate the rest of the inscriptions, it will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Teodor

I agree it's 12 4 numerals, but I don't think it's a date... 124 years past 0 on the Islamic Calendar is 741 CE, and I've just spent twenty minutes trying to puzzle out what else it could be. I'd guess it's more year/month or month/year or maybe just a rack or serial.

I put the question mark to signify the last digit of what I assume to be a 4-digit date. If I am correct, this would place the gun or at least the mechanism between 1824 and 1834, which sounds about right. I am not sure if the zero at the end was omitted or if there was a digit, but has become illegible over time.

Teodor

Hi,
The inscription is
amel-i Hüseyin sene 12_4. I think 4 should be the last digit (1204-1214-1224-1234-1244???).
